Abstract

This study focusses on the issues of News Speed on the social media platform TikTok among the people of Bandung City. The purpose of this study is to determine the magnitude of the direct positive influence of News on Audiens Trust. The type of research using the Simple Linear Regression Analysis method scale to test the hypothesis between the News Speed variable and the Audience Trust variable. The data processing techniques used include validity test consisting of normality tests and heteroscedasticity tests. Furthermore, simple linear regression analysis was conducted through the coefficient of determination, hypothesis, and concluded with drawing conclusions. The result showed that there is a positive and significant influence of News Speed on Audience Trust in conventional media simultaneously. This is proven by the F-value of 59.410 with a significances level of , 0,001. The relationship between variables is in the moderate category with a correlation coefficient (R) value of 0,360. The News Speed variable contributes 13,0% to Audience Trust, while the remaining 87,0% is influenced by other factors outside this study. In the partial test, Publication Speed (X1), News Access Speed (X2), annd Information Update Speed (X3) have a positive effect on Audience Trust. This indicates that social media serves as an initial source of information, however, conventional media remains trusted as a more credible, complete, and accurate source of information.
