Abstract

Raenissa is a novelist whose works originated from a Wattpad application. One of her works that originated from Wattpad and published as a novel entitled My Incurable Boyfriend is a work that reviews mental, having two or more personalities, or called Dissociative Identity Disorder. The rise of mental disorders or identity disorders in this era has caused and the writer to be interested in researching this case. In the research entitled "Case Dissociative Identity Disorder in the novel “My Incurable Boyfriend" by Raenissa" in addition to discussing the existing structure of plot, the writer will also discuss and examine the main character who has DID and it is related to aspects of personality. Examining an aspect of personality according to Sigmud Freud consisting of (1) id; the occurrence of an activity under the subconscious, (2) ego; the occurrence of an activity in a conscious state and (3) superego; the occurrence of an activity in a conscious state but related to moral values and based on Alfred Adler's (1922) theory of individual psychological principles. The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative. The result of this research is that the main character in the novel really has DID because from the data that has been analyzed, his ego personality aspects appear more often, and his id personality aspects become evidence that the existence of other personality changes makes the main character unaware of what his alternative personality is doing.
