Abstract

This study, entitled "An Analysis of Hierarchy of Main Character’s Human Needs in Owens’s Where the Crawdads Sing Movie" was conducted to analyze the fulfillment main character’s Hierarchy of Needs that conduct in the movie. The researcher was required to identify and resolve two problems; To find out fulfillment main character’s human needs in Where the Crawdads Sing Movie, and to find out supporting characters that help the main character to fulfill his/her human needs. The research methodology used is qualitative with descriptive analysis. This method is used to identify and analyze scenes and dialogue in films to determine the fulfillment of human needs for the main characters. There are five levels of needs in the hierarchy of human needs based on Abraham Maslow's theory (Physiological Needs, Safety Needs, Love and belonging, Esteem Needs, and Self�Actualization Needs). Researchers found that the main character in the movie Where the Crawdads Sing was able to fulfill the hierarchy of human needs with a total of 26 data points. In addition, the research findings show that an individual needs the role of a supporting actor to fulfill Maslow's needs with Self-actualization as the peak of the need to become a perfect individual.
