Abstract

This research paper is about Analysis Pop-up as a Media in Teaching Narrative Text in Enhancing Students’ Speaking Skill. This research conducted in Pasundan 8 Senior High School Bandung at X IPS 1. The students’ that involved into this research were 23 students. The research has been analyzed through tree kinds of instrument there are observation by analyzing the procedure of using pop-up book, test, and interview. The procedure in analyzing pop-up book as a media in teaching narrative text at X IPS 1 in Pasundan 8 Senior High School Bandung passed through by several steps. It began by conducting an observation from February, 12th 2020 until February, 26th 2020. Second step was giving post-test and pre-test to the students, and the last was interview by asking some questions to the students. Besides that the pre-test was conducted on Wednesday, February 12th 2020 and the post-test was conducted on Wednesday, February 26th 2020, with the 23 students of class X IPS 1 at Pasundan 8 Senior High School Bandung academic year 2019-2020. From the pre-test and post-test the researcher got the average of both tests that show the improvement of the students’ speaking skill. The last is for the interview step. The researcher took Six of the students to become sample to be interviewed and give their responses about pop-up book. All off the interviewer agreed that the using of pop-up book can increase their speaking skill and make them easier to understand the material. Four of them said that pop-up book does not have any weaknesses but for two of them there are some weaknesses from pop-up book. Almost all the students at X IPS 1 got their improvement after using pop-up as a media and the students’ responses toward using pop-up as a media in teaching narrative are easy to understand the material, focus and enjoy the class. The improvement is showed by the percentage that is 10.1%.
