Abstract

Characters in literary work can refer to the individual in the story, or they can refer to the union of interests, emotions, and moral principles that comprise the character, or they might characterize the character. As viewers, it's important for us to empathize with and gain a deeper understanding of every character in the film, in order to truly comprehend character perspective. (500) Days of Summer by Marc Webb, is that it is a romantic-comedy with a basic idea but outstanding execution. This movie is regarded as one of the top forms of art because it blends the difficulty of maintaining the viewer's viewpoint with the intimacy of the mind as opposed to reality. (500) Days of Summer is one of the greatest examples of a modern romantic film that best represents the love lives of urban youth. The film recounts Tom's (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) journey as he falls in love with the erratic and enigmatic Summer, who thinks that "Love Is Just a Fantasy." Based on the problem of main female character that existed in 500 Days of Summer, the title of this research will be “Representative of The Manic Pixie Dream Girl Trope in the Movie of (500) Days of Summer” which will be focusing on analyzing the main female character Summer Finn, using the elements of Manic Pixie Dream Girl of Rabin (2007). The present study employs a qualitative descriptive methodology. The findings of this study reveal sixteen elements within the film (500) Days of Summer that are associated with characteristics representative of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl archetype. Additionally, fifteen elements were identified that demonstrate differences in the behavior of the main female character towards the male main character, based on significant events that occurred.
