Abstract

There are several kinds of literature such as children’s literature and adult’s literature. There are three genres of literature such as poetry, prose, and drama. This paper is only focused on the children’s literature. There are several kinds which are included to the children’s literature such as lyric of children’s song, story of children, and drama or movie’s children. There is a kind of children’s story that is Cinderella. This paper is analyzing about the Cinderella ’s story by Henry W. Hewet . This story is the first version which is writen in English. The content of the story is not only about the story of children but, t his story also presented about the western woman ’s representation . By using qualitative method the representation of western woman can be analyzed. Firstly this paper is analyzing about the structure elements of the story. By using theory from abrams, t here are three aspects such as plot, character and traits, also sett ing which are analyzed . The last, this paper is analyzing the representation of western woman by seeing the theory of woman. Then the result shows that from this story there is an incompa ti bility between woman and other woman. It presents the bias gender b etween women. Besides, the setting of this story is supporting the woman movement in that era. Keywords: Literat ure, Children’s literature, Wome n, Representation.
