Abstract
This study is entitled The Use of Song to Improve Student’s Vocabulary in Senior High School Pasundan 2 Bandung. Language is one of the basic human skills. For humans language is a means to meet their needs. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the song can be used as a media in English, especially in vocabulary. The use of English songs as a media is the best way to improve students' vocabulary abilities because the song is a tone or rhythm that is loved by everyone. The current qualitative descriptive investigation is basically triggered by the fact that the studied students still have problems recalling the vocabulary. In this study, the teaching and learning process is implemented in daily activities. Like a teacher who is teaching in the classroom in English lessons by using the media of the song as a tool for learning. Post test, and interview. Data implementation of learning is obtained by observing data in the classroom by the author when the teacher is applying the song media as a learning tool. In analyzing the data, this research uses qualitative descriptive method. Based on data analysis from observation and also interview to teacher and student clearly show that use of English song as media can improve vocabulary memory of student of X-Mipa 2 SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. In addition, interview data shows that the use of English songs can also improve the motivation to learn English. The students are also happier and more active in the teaching and teaching process.
