Abstract

The title of this paper is “The Implementation of Think-Pair-Share technique in Enhancing Student’s Speaking Skill”. This study is Classroom Action Research on the tenth grade of Senior High School 2 Bandung in academic year 2013-2014. This study was focused to investigate the implementation of Think-Pair-Share technique in X MIA 6 class (the tenth grade of Math and Science class) which involved 35 students, and the students’ responses toward teaching English by using Think-Pair-Share technique in their classroom. This study was conducted during three cycles used Classroom Action Research method with Qualitative Approach as the method of analyzing data. The data were obtained from observations, interviews, tests and questionnaires. The interview to the teacher was conducted to obtain supporting data. Findings of the study showed that Think-Pair-Share technique could enhance the students’ speaking scores in X MIA 6 class. The enhancement of students’ speaking scores showed in every cycle significantly. There was 14.4 point of enhancement from the mean score in pre-test to the post-test. The best part of students’ responses toward the implementation of Think-Pair-Share technique in their classroom were positive (59.71%), and nearly half of students’ responses were extremely positive (39.14%), the rest, a few of students’ responses were negative (1.15%).
