Abstract
This research paper is entitled, Morphological Analysis of Slang Words in ‘’Olivia Rodigo's Sour Album”. the purpose of this research is to find out the type of slang words and to find out how the formation of slang words. This research uses qualitative research methods as a way to collect data related to this research, slang data is analyzed using the theory of Alan and Burdge (2006) and morphological data is analyzed from the theory of O'grady (1996). This data is taken from song lyrics entitled Good 4 You, Deja Vu, Favorite Crime, Enough For You, Jealousy Jealousy, according to Alan and Buridge (2006) states that there are 5 types of slang words: clipping 15 categories, 3 flippant categories, 2 imitative categories, 2 fresh & creative categories, acronym 0. Then, according to O'grady (1996) there are 8 types of word formation: 16 categories of affixation, 4 categories of fusion, 1 category of rephrasing, 2 categories of blending, 15 categories of beheading. acronym 0, derivation 0, and conversion 0.
