Abstract

Characters in literary work can be categorized based on their roles in the story. Characters in literary work usually divided as the protagonist or known as the lead character in a story and the antagonist or known as the villain in a story. The research is focused on analyzing the character of Artoria Pendragon in Fate Series which is related to King Arthur in Arthurian Legend. Therefore, the writer is trying to analyze how King Arthur influenced the character Artoria Pendragon by using Marquaß (1997) characteristic of character theory. The research method that writer used for this research is qualitative method. The writer conclude that King Arthur influenced the character Artoria Pendragon a lot, from their background, stories, past, weapon and even their death. The only differences from Arthur and Artoria are their gender. While Arthur appears to be a man, Artoria appears as a woman in the Fate Series Keywords: Character, Artoria Pendragon, Fate Series, King Arthur
