Abstract

This research is entitled Analysis of “An Analysis of Hoax News on Twitter: Meaning Based Perspective”. This study discusses what fake news is available on Twitter and what types of speech acts exist on Twitter social media. The purpose of this study is to find out hoax news containing speech acts on social media, especially on Twitter. This research uses the method used is qualitative. The results of this study are to urge readers or users of social media to be more careful in spreading the news. And the conclusion of this research is that readers or social media users can be wiser in claiming news that has been spread on social media, especially on Twitter, will be better in the future. And also hopes that those who spread hoax news can get better and wiser lessons in giving news. Keywords: Hoax, Social media, Speech act
