Abstract

As the time goes by, variety of language is also grown, especially slang and jargon. Usually, jargon used for simplify a word on certain groups for easier communication. In the other hand jargon also used to isolate conversation from outsiders. So thats why jargon can become a double edge sword. In this paper, the writer conducted a research about “An Analysis of Jargon Used by Ex-drug Addict at Rumah Cemara Community”. The main reason the writer chose this title because the writer would like to contribute to community for war against drugs. As a student the writer believe that this research will help to fight against drugs.The writer doing interview with two wonderful person in rumah cemara that has been fight against drugs for long period of time. This research using qualitative analysis and sociolinguistic approach to find the meaning also form of every jargon itself. In this research the writer has found fifty-six jargons, and it has four form which was abbreviation, acronym, word and phrase.
