Abstract

The process for handling covid-19 in Indonesia considered ineffective, the public needs clear information in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, it needs a proper and effective health communication strategy carried out by the government in handling it. The purpose of this research is to provide input or recommendations to the government on how to develop a health communication strategy to handle it. The research method used is a literature study by collecting data and information from various sources or materials, such as from books, studies, documents and other references. By conducting an integrated and sustainable health communication campaign about how to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and further provides guidance regarding steps that need to be taken to overcome or how to treat if exposed to virus-19; creating and implementing appropriate and effective communication strategies in handling Covid-19 with regard to the communication elements which created an effective and targeted communication, such as: choosing and sorting the right communicator, use an effective message, understand the communicant who is the target and the expected effect of the conducted health communication; And then how to choosing the right steps to integrate a health communication strategy for handling Covid-19 be the level of action and procedural tactics and techniques appropriately, effectively and efficiently.
