Abstract
The research entitles “The Implementation of Cooperative Learning Type Jigsaw in Teaching Recount Text to Increasing Students Reading Skills” it attempt to find out the method at PGRI LEMBANG senior high school to improving their language skills escpecially the reading skills. This research use qualitative method since it does not need a statistic approach. The data in this research is a lesson planning arranged by the English teacher of PGRI LEMBANG senior high school and the result of student’s test score during research process. The analysis used instrument documentation in form of table content analysis checklist. The research question in this research is focusing to the lesson planning made by the English teacher of PGRI LEMBANG senior high school.This research is also supported by other theory from experts in education to strengthen the theories. The theory from Robert E.Slavin is the main theory uses to support the theoretical foundation in this research. Theories written by Slavin known focusing it self in the success of the implementation of learning methods with many kind of variety. That is the reason make the researcher put his theory as the grand theory in this research. The result of this research is shown that the implementation of the jigsaw technique in teaching recount text can really help student to improving their reading skills. And also the teaching equipment as a weak part, because the research found some unavailable aspects on it. Keywords : Jigsaw technique, Recount text, learning methods
