Abstract
As a result of population growth and the insistence on the need for regional infrastructure and facilities, this physical development has led to changes in the structure of the area where the area of built-up land continues to increase, while the green open space (RTH) which is a "balance" to the condition of a city ecosystem has not been optimally utilized. Seeing the reality that develops above, from the perspective of community development, it is an opportunity for higher education institutions to reflect on their science and technology in providing assistance to initiation and inventory of ideas that will be carried out by the community to produce the concept of optimization to increase the use of green green open space. To harmonize the wishes and interests of the people of Wargasaluyu Village, Gununghalu District, West Bandung Regency in optimizing green green open space, the team proposed directions and initiations on its utilization. The process of mentoring and initiating the community creates original ideas for the community in optimizing the utilization of green open space that is still lacking, namely that the community independently determines the places used to build green open space, the result is that there are 3 places for public green open space and 4 places for private green open space. In addition, the selection of green open space function as an ecological function where it is planted with family medicinal plants where there are 18 types of medicinal plants selected by the community which are viewed based on the general properties needed to deal with diseases that often attack the community, how to plant, care for plants, and relatively harvest crops. easy and sustainable.
