Abstract
This research is aimed to know the meaning and message contained inthe songs of Copeland’s album entitled "You Are My Sunshine". And to know What are the meaning of life and What are the moral message carried by the songs of cope land’s album entitled "You Are My Sunshine".The method used in this paper paper is descriptive-qualitative. The writer employs himself to collect the data by reading whole lyrics of the songs contained in the album and listening to the songs itself, marking the sentences that matters. The writer used the songs of copeland in their album entitled You Are My Sunshine.After analyzing the lyric of the song which are composed by Copeland, the writer made conclusion. The writer concludes that each song in this album contains different meanings and messages even though there are some songs that have the similarity. The following is the meaning and message contained in each song: Can’t Move On After a Failed Relationship, Depression and loneliness, Change and move forward after hard times, Finding and accepting god into life, Bottled up emotion, Greediness. There are so many terms that have the different meanings and messages. In expressing his experience, a composer or songwriter manipulates words or languages to create an appeal to the lyrics or.
