Abstract
The purpose of this thesis entitled “ Photogaphy Essay on Amarasi Traditional Woven Fabric Patterns from East Nusa Tenggara”, is to learn about Amarasi woven fabric, and to maximize the using of phytography essay as a means to introduce woven fabric patterns of Amarasi.The method of the research is descriptive by qualitative research paradigm. Data collecting is done by field observation, interviewing experts and using the research subject itself. The result of the research shows that there are some patterns that should be known by people are King and Garuda Bird Patterns. Coloring process of the threads is using natural colors, such as leaves or tree roots. In the writer’s point of view, Amarasi patterns are very interesting; through photography, the writer as a photographer presents this in an essay. Based on the result of the research, it is concluded that Amarasi woven pattern can be an identity that symbolizes Indonesia. The local government does not give enough attention to woven fabric, it makes weaver groups are difficult to grow. As a result they find it difficult to show their existence and potentials in the community. In the process of the work, photography creates photos which tKeywords: photography, essay, woven fabriche photographer’s point of view involved.
