Abstract

This study aims to analyze the elements of romance in Jenny Han's novel P.S. I Still Love You using the romance formula theory by Neal Wyatt and Joyce G. Saricks.The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, with data analysis techniques in the form of selection process data, data presentation, and explaining conclusions. Data were taken from the novel text analyzed based on the theory of romance formula. The results of the study show that the novel P.S. I Still Love You consistently fulfills all elements of the romance formula according to Saricks. This study concludes that the novel "P.S. I Still Love You" is a representation of popular romance fiction that follows the pattern of the romance formula. This study is expected to contribute to the development of popular literary studies and serve as a reference for future research interested in exploring the romance genre academically.
