Abstract
ABSTRACT Indonesia has a diversity of cultures and natural beauty that can be developed in the tourism sector. The tourism sector has a multiplier effect on economic growth, tourist expenditure, exchange rates, investment, and employment in service. This study aims to: (1) Analyze the description of tourist expenditure, exchange rates, investment, and employment in service on economic growth in Indonesia and Korea, (2) Analyze the comparison of tourist expenditure, exchange rates, investment, and employment in service on economic growth in Indonesia and Korea. This study can see how the comparison of the influence of the tourism sector on economic growth in Indonesia as a developing country and Korea as a developed country. Therefore, we can identify which implementations from Korea can be applied in Indonesia. The data used in this study is a time series with a period of 2002-2019. This researcher uses a quantitative method and the data used is secondary data sourced from the World Bank. The results of the analysis found that tourist expenditure, exchange rates, employment in service, and investment have a positive influence on economic growth in Indonesia and Korea. This study can be used as literature in strategies to improve the tourism sector in Indonesia. Keywords: Economic Growth, Tourist Expenditure, Exchange Rate, Employment in Service, Investment
