Abstract

This paper entitled “The Use of Mobile Assisted Language Learning as A Media in Teaching English Vocabulary”. This paper is written to fulfill the sarjana degree requirement. The issue background in this paper are thelack of vocabulary mastery of the student because English vocabulary is the important skill to mastery. This research was conducted because in learning English language, especially in school from elementary to senior, vocabulary become the important skills. In this paper, the writer uses a qualitative approach and the writer are using classroom action research (CAR)as the method to collecting the data. The writer using an application to implemented the mobile learning. The writer analyzed the data in order to knowingthe students English vocabulary masteryand in order to answer the main problem. This study was conducted in SDN 1 Sukamanah.The writer does several steps (observation, interview, and documentation) as the procedure to collecting the data. The subject for the population was taken from students in SDN 1 Sukamanah. The writer took the samples from the students in SDN 1 Sukamanah. Moreover, the samples are 10 students that have been selected by the writer. After collecting the data. The writer analyzed the student’s vocabulary mastery and after that the writer drew conclusion of the vocabulary mastery of the students. The students are motivated to learn and as the result, the students were able to memorize the vocabulary easier. Therefore, the mobile assisted language learning is good method to implemented to the students because it can improve the students English vocabulary mastery.
