Abstract
The research entitled “The Implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) Method in Improving Students’ Writing Skills”. It attempts to improve the students’ writing skills through CIRC method and find out the process of CIRC method, the learni ng media of CIRC method, then the result of CIRC method in the tenth grade of SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. The writer uses mix method which is qualitative and quantitative method to answer the research questions. The study is carried out in two cycle. The write r collects the data through field note interview, quesionnaire, and test which is pre - test and post - test. This research conducts the following process: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Based on Kurt Lewin model. The learning media used in this research are slideshow, video, and a handout of article. The result of this study shows that there is improvement of students’ writing skills in the tenth grade of SMA Pasundan 2 Bandung. The improvement could be seen from the increase 65.63 or 33.33% of the class of the class presentage which passes Minimum Mastery Criterion – Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) in the first cycle, to 78.13 or 83.33% of the class of the class presentage which passes Minimum Mastery Criterion – Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (K KM) in the second cycle. The students also gave positive responses to the quisionnaire that have been given after implementing the action.
