Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students' mathematical creative thinking skills and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) through the implementation of the Cooperative Script model, considering learning styles, and to examine the relationship between SRL and mathematical creative thinking skills. A mixed-methods approach with a convergent design was employed, combining a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design with a case study. The participants consisted of 68 Grade XI students from SMA Pasundan 2, Cimahi City, divided into experimental and control groups of 34 students each. Research instruments included a mathematical creative thinking skills test, questionnaires on SRL and learning styles, interviews, and observations. Quantitative analysis involved prerequisite tests, N-gain, two-way ANOVA, post-hoc tests, and simple linear regression, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicated a combined effect of the learning model and learning style on the improvement of mathematical creative thinking skills (F = 22.754, p = 0.000, Partial Eta Squared = 0.647). The Cooperative Script group showed greater improvement compared to the expository group across learning style categories. However, no significant differences in SRL were found based on either the learning model or learning style. Conversely, SRL was positively correlated with mathematical creative thinking skills, with a regression coefficient of 0.724 and a significance level of 0.000. These findings suggest that the Cooperative Script model is effective in fostering mathematical creativity, whereas the development of SRL requires explicit and sustained self-regulation strategies.
