Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of persuasive language. The writer chose the title "An Analysis of Persuasive Language in Tourism Account Instagram in @indtravel Caption". This study aims to determine the persuasive language technique used in the @indtravel account caption. In this day and age, social media is very influential in our daily life. One of the famous social media that is also very loved at this time is Instagram and there are many Instagram users around the world. Even today social media can be a place to do business for those who are developing a business. Instagram is one of the most influential social media for doing business, one of which is the @indtravel account. @indtravel account is the official account of the Indonesian Ministry of Economy and Tourism. This account is very active in promoting Indonesian tourism through Instagram to make it more famous throughout Indonesia and can also inform the Indonesian people that tourism in Indonesia is very beautiful and no less interesting than tourism in other countries. They promote Indonesian tourism by posting photos of nature tours and other tours in Indonesia and then providing interesting posts in the captions that also invite their followers and other Instagram users to visit the place. This data analysis uses descriptive qualitative and gorys kerafs theory which explains the theory used in persuasive language in advertising. Also explained that the persuasive language techniques are rationalization, identification, suggestion, conformity, compensation, projection, and displacement. In the analysis, @indtravel uses more suggestion and rationalization techniques in their captions to attract more attention to their followers.
