Abstract

Title: An Analysis of Moral Messages on Kenshi Yonezu‟s Song Lyric “Lemon” The aim of this reason is to find out a moral message in the song lyric Lemon. The writer feels that this song lyric “Lemon” by Kenshi Yonezu has many meaningful moral messages to be discovered and learn the meaning of it. Therefore, the writer would like to figure it out what kind of moral message found in the song lyric Lemon by Kenshi Yonezu, and the meaning behind the song lyric Lemon. Research method used in this research paper is descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative method is procedure that is used to describe data in the form of words written. The procedures of data collection were reading the lyric and listening to the song Lemon, and gathered all the data from both lyric and song, the writer categorized and highlighted all of the data. The writer will identify the song lyric Lemon uses the elements of poetry, those are: (1) physical elements and (2) inner elements. The writer will classify each stanza and verse from the lyric that contains moral messasge/values. After the writer conducting the research, the writer found the moral messages/values and identify the moral message/values into 3 kinds, those are: (1) Moral messages related to relationship between human and God, (2) Moral messages related to relationship between human and others, and (3) Moral messages related to relationship between human and themselves. The writer will validate all moral messages/values in each stanza and verse. The writer concluded that the song lyric Lemon contain 3 kinds of moral messages/values that Kenshi Yonezu, as the songwriter of Lemon, wants to convey. The writer hopes this research paper will help the readers to understand how to find the moral messages/values in literary works and could be a reference in producing better research paper to the further researcher.
