Abstract

e-Warong KUBE is an electronic transaction model in business group for poor people which has been launched in 2016 aimed to reduce poverty level in Indonesia. This program facilitated economic transactions through the BNI program directed to residents receiving the Family Hope Program or Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH) in form of cashless and card models where the KUBE e-warong operators save money that is stored safely and can not be drawn to buy daily necessities. The objective of the study was to illustrate the potentials and problems within the SWOT framework and to identify the efforts undertaken to address the problem. The research method used qualitative approach apllied in Cimahi City. The research informants were business actors of KUBE and business advisor as secondary informant. Data collection using in-depth interviews and observation, the results of the study has been analyzed qualitatively by considering memos and categorizations. Results showed that e-warong KUBE received full support from the government as the strength of the program, while the weakness was the dynamics of the static group, entrepreneurial spirit as well as low understanding of business management. Opportunities e-warong KUBE in the form of business development that not only channeling aid funds for beneficiaries but also expansion of other types of business, while the threat was a low cohesiveness resulting in the group threatened to disperse. Recommendations was directed to stakeholders in order to give some contribution to reach their goal and improve entrepreneurship spirit.
