Abstract
This research aims to provide an overview and also describe women’s empowerment efforts by Women for Women International (WFWI) through the Stronger Women Stronger Nations (SWSN) program. The author wants to explain the programs and efforts undertaken by WFWI to empower women through the provision of educational and training resources to increase the confidence and capacity of discriminated women and explain the effectiveness of WFWI’s role in Afghanistan to achieve its goals. In this study was obtained through library research through journals, theses, reports, e-books. The concept used is Liberal Feminism which will explain discrimination against women in Afghanistan. The second concept is Human Security, which as a correlation to discrimination cases that have an impact on the safety of women. And the third concept ts the concept of Non- Governmental Organizatio (NGO) which will explain the empowerment of women in Afghanistan by WFWI. The results of this study show that the efforts to empower women by Women for Women International (WFWI) through the Stronger Women Stronger Nations (SWSN) program produce results and have a big impact in terms of raising awareness that women also have an important role in this country. Although in implementing the program has its own opportunities and challenges, but WFWI can overcome these problems. The conclusion of this study shows that WFWI in Afghanistan is able to overcome problems for women in Afghanistan to prosper women.
