Abstract
The world community is facing the issue of climate change, where climate change can increase the earth's heat. Cryptocurrency mining is one of the issues that can increase carbon emissions and cause climate change to get worse. Greenpeace as an international organization engaged in green environmental empowerment, anticipates this to happen by carrying out a movement in encouraging the United States Government as a policy maker to regulate energy use and anticipate climate change to occur. The United States as a member of the Paris Agreement with the encouragement of the United States Department of Energy which demands that by 2030 America prioritize the reduction of carbon emissions. But in fact, the United States in the case of cryptocurrency mining has not been seen seriously in dealing with cases of large energy use in crypto mining. This is the task of greenpeace as an international organization to encourage energy policy in the United States. By analyzing green politics, it can understand how greenpeace encourages US policy in dealing with climate change. The research method uses the analysis of green politics theory, United States energy policy, deliberative politics, global governance in analyzing greenpeace's environmental political campaign to encourage the US on the issue of cryptocurrency mining with Miles & Huberman data analysis techniques. More and more policies have been put forward by the United States from analyzing the mitigation process of crypto mining, reducing energy use and so on. However, these policies require a long process, and many parties are involved in overcoming climate change in the cryptocurrency mining phenomenon. In the author's analysis, the US government and Greenpeace are not competent in providing assertiveness on the crypto mining issue. The author suggests improvements in the implementation of the journal climate and energy implications of crypto-assets in the United States.
