Abstract
Electricity consumption for air conditioning accounts for nearly 60% of hospital building. The air in the room that needs to be conditioned in the hospital is one of the operating rooms to maintain temperature and humidity according to the Minister of Health Regulation standards for 24 hours. This study aims to determine placement of temperature and humidity sensors that provide the lowest electricity consumption in the operating room of Edelweiss Hospital and to determine the amount of energy savings after optimizing the placement of temperature and humidity sensors. The research method used is direct experimentation in the operating room of Edelweiss Hospital by moving the temperature and humidity sensors at a certain time when the ambient temperature is uniform. Experiments were carried out by placing sensors on 4 sides of the walls of the operating room with a height of 0.5 meters, 1.5 meters and 2 meters with a total of 12 points. The experimental results show that there are differences temperature and humidity readings from each sensor placement point which causes the sensor to send a signal to the controller to instruct the cooling and heating system to work harder to reach a predetermined set point. The most optimal sensor placement point was found which could save 41% of electrical energy and save Rp. 1,222,235 per month.
