Abstract

This study is called “An Analysis of Connotative Meaning Gray’s Kid Crow”. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the kind of Connotative Meaning contained in a song lyric album entitled Kid Crow and how they are conveyed to the audience. Music is one of the genres in literature which is most well-liked to be watched by individuals of varied ages. Music also has a message that we can learn from in real life. There are kinds of meaning, and there are two ways to deliver moral messages, which are direct and indirect convey, but this study will only focused on analyze connotative meaning. The writer used a qualitative method in analyzing the data, and used Geoffrey Leech and JN Hook Theory in order to answer the research problem. The researcher obtained the data through observation, data collection, and analysis. Based on the analysis, this movie contained 33 connotation, Among them there are 18 positive connotative words, and 15 negative connotative words and found 3 idioms.
