Abstract
The main problem of transportation in urban areas is congestion. The problem of traffic congestion as a disturbance of vehicles against other vehicles, including the relationship between flow and speed, in conditions where the approach used by transportation users is road capacity. Side barriers can be expressed as the interaction between traffic flow and roadside activities related to land use along the road which causes congestion. Types of side barriers can be pedestrians, public transportation and other vehicles that are stopped, vehicles that are moving slowly, and vehicles that enter and exit the side of the road. This study uses a quantitative descriptive model approach which calculates numbers and explains the numbers that have been obtained. This study was conducted to examine the side barriers to road effectiveness, where the research location is on the Pekringan road, Pekalipan District, Cirebon City, West Java Province. In collecting data, it can be done by collecting primary data and collecting secondary data. From the results of the study, it was found that the type of side barriers that dominates the Pekringan road, Pekalipan District, Cirebon City, is the type of side barriers for pedestrians because there are pedestrians and pedestrians on the road.
