Abstract
This study aimed to acknowledge how educational content broadcasts might strengthen cultural identity and local wisdom in Bandung TV and Radar Cirebon TV. This research which was developed in the field, issued several questions regard to: (1) The textual, discursive and social dimensions of television broadcast content that educate to strengthen local cultural identity in Bandung TV and Radar Cirebon TV; (2) The text, discursive and social dimensions of television broadcast content that educate to strengthen local wisdom in Bandung TV and Radar Cirebon TV. This study applied qualitative methods in collecting and analyzing research data by using critical approach, observation and in-depth interviews. In this study, the team analyzed by watching, observing, interviewing the creators and viewers of the broadcast content. The study results showed that (1) Textually and discursively, both Bandung TV and RCTV Cirebon managed to display educational local content to strengthen cultural identity and local wisdom in the program. (2) There have been several events that might be impressed as showing a cultural identity but less educating such as Tembang Pantura and Bentang Parahyangan; (3) Locality that has been interpreted by Bandung TV and RCTV is based on geographical locality which has the potential to create ethnolocality which in the end delivered hegemony and domination.
