Abstract
The title of this research is “An Analysis of Synesthesia on Shakespearean Sonnet". This research was conducted with the aim of discovering and describing the figure of speech; synesthesia on Shakespearean sonnet based on stilistic theory by Nurgiyantoro. This research is included in research using a qualitative approach to document study type. The research data were in the form of words, phrases, and sentences contained in a sonnet which one kind of a poem. From the data collected, then analyzed with intrinsic elements to find synesthesia, then analyzed the meaning of it. Based on the results of research on the Shakespearean sonnet, it was found twelve synesthesia that most of it has a meaning to praise his beloved one, like the fairy youth and the dark lady, either exchange two different senses or adding a color to sense.
