Abstract
In essence, Islamic teaching does not distinguish between the rights of man and woman. Allah was created them as the servant of Allah, followed by their respective rights and obligations. Islam has placed women in a very respectable and noble position based on their nature and character, and it is not different for men in matters of humanity and rights. There is no discrimination against one particular group in Islam. However, socio-cultural do not have the same perspective in understanding rights, especially the rights of women. In Pre-Islamic era women were treated like commodities, they were bought and soul and at the same time, they had no say on what they were treated. After the arrival of Islam, those are things are prohibited and erased. This research used the qualitative method because the data that will be analyzed based on literature review where in the process of collecting the data the writer does not need to go to the field with surveys or observations. This paper aimed to explain that woman is noble and has the equal rights as man based on the Qur’an Surah An-Nisa and there are many other verses in Qur’an that woman has the same rights as men. Among the rights of women are: the woman’s right to get an education, the woman’s right to get a dowry and a living, the woman’s right to ask for divorce, the woman’s right in the field of inheritance and material rights, and the last is the woman’s rights in leadership.
