Abstract
This research paper is entitled “An Analysis of Theme of Edgar Allan Poe’s Midnight Stories”. The content in this paper is to know about the theme in the stories of a book entitled “Midnight Stories” by Edgar Allan Poe. In conducting this research, the writer uses qualitative method in order to analyze the theme contained in the work. The writer chooses the works because the book entitled “Midnight Stories” are contained various themes to conduct. This research concluded that through literary work, the authors can convey theme that contained in works are for audience. The author search for the data by close reading. From the research, the writer found 5 different themes found in 6 stories from Edgar Allan Poe's work "Midnight Stories". This research concluded that through short story, the authors can convey that the theme that contained in the works are indeed useful for the reader..
