Abstract

The research is an entitled “an analysis of idiomatic expression in Singleton’s Boyz n the Hood movie” a movie in which the writer think that it has a proper material within it that the writer can pull as much as they provide, the more detail that the writers look the more idiomatic expression that the writer can pull. This research tells about race, relationships, violence, and future prospects within an African�American community that took place in South Central, Los Angeles an area that was infamously known for a gang culture, drugs and alcohol abuse among teenagers, and gun violence in the late 80s. the area also is where the director was born and raised, John Singleton. The writer chooses the movie because he feels interested on how of the director delivered the story. The writer thinks that the movie depicts the present situation. The writer decides to conduct this research to find how the racial and violence occur there. The writer uses Vinay and Darbelnet concept about seven procedure of translation to answer the problem.
