Abstract

This paper entitled “Improving English Conversation through Playing PUBG Mobile”. This paper is written to fulfill the sarjana degree requirement. The issue background in this paper are the English Speaking skills of the players PUBG Mobile. This research was conducted because the conversation of PUBG Mobile players while they are playing it uses English language and the writer want to know does it improve their speaking abilities. In this paper, the writer uses a qualitative approach and the writer are collecting the data from the game match. The writer analyzed the data in order to know improvement of the players PUBG Mobile English speaking skills and in order to answer the main problem. This study was conducted based the English speaking skills of The players which selected by the writers. The data has been analyzed and there are 40 mistakes in phase 1 and in phase 2 there are 20 mistakes of English speaking skills aspects and also the writers found 261 utterances that used by the players and categorized into 8 categories of Hymes speaking theory. The results show that the English speaking skills aspects are decreased. Keyword: English Language, Speaking Skill, Speaking Elements, PUBG Mobile, Hymes Speaking Theory.
