Abstract

Problem that occurred in VB class of SDN 184 Buahbatu Bandung City was student learning outcomes that tend to be low. Proved by learning score percentage of V B class in SDN 184 Buahbatu that had not reached standard curriculum learning (44,7%). It based on the use of learning media that was not optimal, lack of learning media effectiveness, and one-way communication direction, and also the use of speech method dominated. Therefore, the researcher used Problem Based Learning (PBL) model that aimed to recognize whether PBL model will improve learning outcomes of students. This research was conducted by using Kemmis and Taggart theory which consisted of 3 cycles within planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The cognitive learning outcomes in the cycle I (16%), cycle II (55%) and cycle III (89%). The affective learning results consisted of three aspects. First Self-confidence in cycle I (71%), cycle II (77%), and cycle III (97%). Second the attitude of caring in cycle I (76%), cycle II (86%) and cycle III (100%). Third responsibility behavior in cycle I (60%), cycle II (81%) and cycle III (100%). The psychomotor learning outcomes in cycle I (60%), cycle II (87%), and cycle III (100%). It showed that the use of PBL model can improve student learning outcomes in human and environmental sub-themes at VB class in SDN 184 Buahbatu Bandung City. By Seeing these results, it proved that learning by using PBL is precisely proven by the improvement in each cycle. Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning
