Abstract

This paper is entitled “The Use of Series Pictures as a Media in Teaching Simple Present Tense (A case study toward the first grade students of SMA PASUNDAN 3 BANDUNG)”. In this paper, the writer discussed about learning simple present tense through series pictures in first grade of senior high school. The writer also disscused about how far the students likes and understood about learning simple present tense using series pictures. The writer also explains about roles of the teacher and roles of students in the class. The writer also explains about the steps of learning, Until the evaluation form in learning simple present tense through series pictures. This research used descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. Simple present tense is one of tenses that should be learned by students. Simple present tense has a pattern and functions. Some of the students thought that the pattern in tenses are difficult to remember. In this research the writer used series pictures to make the student interested in learning simple present tense. The use of series pictures in learning simple present tense is easier to be understood and memorized by the students about the pattern and functions. And it can be seen in the result of data analysis in this research.
