Abstract
The purpose of this study was utilized tapioca pulp as an ingredient produce of ethanol. The benefit of this study is to provide information to the public about the effort of eficience raw material for produce ethanol from tapioca pulp through the recycling process of vinasse to ethanol content and yield of ethanol produced. This research method was divided into three stages. First, preparation of raw material and starter with analysis of chemical and mikrobiology. Second, was optimum time of fermentation and starter concentration. Third, was optimization of vinasse with analysis of chemical and microbiology and twice recycling of vinasse to know yield ethanol and rendemen ethanol. The results of third research to recycling of ethanol after distillation, first level of recycling is (R1) 1.74%, and second level of recycling is (R2) 0.87%. Yield ethanol after soaked with CaO distillation, first level of recycling is (R1) 32.80%, second level of recycling is (R2) 2.90%. Rendemen ethanol from tapioca pulp distillation, first level of recycling is (R1) 14.91%, second level of recycling is (R2) 14.36% and from basis of fermentation distillation, first level of recycling is (R1) 0.90%, second level of recycling is (R2) 0.86%. Rendemen ethanol 99.6% from tapioca pulp distillation, first level of recycling is (R1) 4.91%, second level of recycling is (R2) 0,41% and from basis of fermentation distillation, first level of recycling is (R1) 0.29%, second level of recycling is (R2) 0.03%. The result of optimum condition fermentation yield ethanol before recycle is 84,79%, with concentration of starter 15% (26,25x106), time of fermentation 48 hour, temperature of fermentation 300C, pH 4,5, and amount of cell from starter YGA 1,75x108. Rendemen ethanol in the effort of eficience raw material for produce ethanol from tapioca pulp through the recycling process of vinasse is 18,94% rendemen bioethanol from tapioka pulp bigger than rendemen bioethanol from cassava 16,67% because 6 kg cassava produce of bioetahol 1 liter while 5,28 kg tapioca pulp produce of bioetahol 1 liter.
