Abstract

The title of this research is Increasing Students’ Reading Comprehension through Mind Mapping Technique” It is written to be submitted to the English Department of Pasundan University. This research used the qualitative method. The sample is only for First Grade X4 class SMAN 1 Ngamprah, Bandung Barat consists of 30 students. This study was conducted on August 10th and 15th 2016. The aim of the research as follows: 1. To know the form of lesson planning to increasing students’ reading comprehension. 2. To know the learning instrument about mind mapping technique including (the learning material, the teaching media, the worksheet, and the evaluation). 3. To know the learning result of using mind mapping technique to increase students’ reading comprehension. 4. To know the students’ responses toward the use of the mind mapping technique. The data for this research are from: test, classroom observation, and questionnaires. The writer found this technique useful for increasing students’ reading comprehension The result of increasing students’ reading comprehension through mind mapping technique is increased. Bandung
